    No. In fact, you can browse showrooms for service professional by simply selecting a project category and identifying your location.

    Create a profile when you are ready to submit your project to the service professionals. Once you have created a profile, you can submit and track projects and correspond directly with the service professionals, all from a simple dashboard. Every time you return to BestContractors.com, simply log in using your email address and password.

    How do I create a project?

    Select a project category from the search screen, choose the appropriate sub-category in Step 2, and then complete your location information in Step 3. click on the "Begin Search" button. BestContractors.com will display the service professionals in your area that can help you.

    Review the service professional showrooms and select up to three in which you'd like to send a project request. Click on "Complete project to submit bid".

    Complete the project detail on the form provided and click "Save Project". Your project request will come to BestContractors.com for review. We will then contact you if we have any questions or recommendations to improve a service professional response, and then release your project request.

    I don't see the category I need. How do I create a project without it?

    If it's between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Mountain Time, click on "Live Help" and one of our sales counselors will assist you. If it's outside of support hours, choose a similar category and use the "Additional Information" field to define your project. One of our sales counselors will contact you the next business day.

    How do I guarantee that I am not being overcharged for my project?

    Request bids from several service professionals. This allows you to compare estimate prices, however, don't just select the least expensive estimate. Carefully consider material selection, craftsmanship, project completion dates, customer feedback ratings, and of course rapport. It is your responsibility as homeowner to compare and contrast all aspects of your project.

    How do I select a service professional?

    BestContractors.com's search engine returns the service professionals in your area that offer the services for which you are looking. Carefully browse their showrooms and select up to three that interest you. Click "Request a bid" and the service professional will be immediately notified of your project request.

    Thoroughly investigate your service professional to ensure a good match; check references, verify insurance and licensure, meet with them to confirm compatibility and discuss project details.

    What are the requirements for a service professional to be part of the BestContractors.com network?

    INSURANCE: All service professionals must have the minimum amount of insurance appropriate for their trade. You can request their insurance provider's contact information from your project dashboard.

    Insurance is verified upon signup; however, we highly recommend that all homeowners contact the insurance provider to verify current coverage before beginning a project.

    LICENSING: Not all service professionals are required to have licensing to perform work in your home. The state of Colorado does, however, require Plumbers and Electricians to be licensed. Many service professionals must be licensed within certain municipalities. Please contact your city for requirements. Given the requirements of the trade, service professionals are required to hold current licensing upon registration to our site.

    What should I do once I've selected a service professional?

    Once you feel confident you've selected the service professional that is right for you, complete any necessary paperwork with them and schedule a start date for your project.

    How can I feel confident that I selected the right service professional?

    It's about choice. BestContractors.com allows you to select the service professionals that appeal to you from your search results. Your dashboard allows you to easily converse with all the professionals who have requested to bid on your project. Any question they ask you is viewable by you and all the other service professionals invited to your project, so you only answer it once. When you are ready, schedule a site inspection and get your bid. Ultimately, your ability to choose what you want will positively influence the outcome of your project!

    What happens if I change my mind and no longer wish to move forward with my project?

    Not a problem. Unless you have signed a contract with a service professional, you're under no obligation. In the event you have signed a contract, you will need to discuss the terms of the agreement with your service professional.

    Is there any place I can read up on other homeowners' experiences with the service professional?

    Yes. Every service professional has a ratings section that will include a history of past projects while using BestContractors.com. Service professional profiles also provide personal and professional references that have been verified by us.

    Who submits the ratings for the service professional?

    All homeowners who use BestContractors.com are encouraged to complete a ratings form following the completion of their project. We highly recommend everyone do this so that homeowners will be more informed and make more confident decisions.

    What if I am dissatisfied with the service professional's work?

    While BestContractors.com cannot guarantee the workmanship of a service professional, we are here to help your project go smoothly. Keep in mind, the key to customer satisfaction is frequent communication. To alleviate problems, write your questions down and discuss them with your service professional before the project begins. If the project is long-term, agree to communicate frequently throughout the project (weekly at a minimum). In the event that you are dissatisfied, contact us as soon as you have any concern and we'll work with you and the service professional to establish an equitable resolution process.

    Service professionals respond more quickly when contacted via our website because BestContractors.com is part of their daily routine. Plus, we make communication more efficient. Any exchange between you and a service professional is captured in a forum that can be viewed by every service professional that you've invited to bid on your project. That means you don't have to repeat yourself, and each service professional is free to comment.

    The service is free to Homeowners. Service professionals pay a fee to feature their business on our site.

    I have a question that is not listed in your FAQ's, how can it be addressed?

    We have an online Help Desk Assistant available to answer your questions Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Mountain Standard Time). Just click on the "Help" button and you will be prompted to type in your name and question. The Help Desk Assistant will answer your questions using Instant Messaging.
