Homeowner Reviews For Easy Street Builders L.L.C.
"Unfortunately our experience with Easy Street Builders was not a positive one despite a thorough interview process and calls to their satisfied referrals. Our job was poorly planned and communication between the GC, Ron McCracken, his sub-contractors and the homeowner was poor at best. The main sub on the job, Rob Lord of Quality Homeworks, was ill prepared when he arrived on the job site. He was not informed as to the scope of the work to be performed and the only word to describe his attitude is “arrogant”. Rob’s arrival time was regularly late if he was on the job at all. Some days he merely dropped off a crew and left them unsupervised, not returning to review the work that had been completed those days. Rob personally performed work one day; wrapping a column (decorative trim) and moving a refrigerator water line. The column was installed crooked and the waterline was not secured to a stud. The same day, one of Rob’s crew installed backer board in preparation for tile in the kitchen. In the “leveling process” we were left with a 1.5” variation in floor heights between our kitchen and adjoining den, which was to receive hardwood. Having exhausted our patience and tolerance for late arrivals, poor quality work and Rob’s lack of professionalism, we contacted GC, Ron McCracken and fired Rob Lord from our job. This was approximately 5 days into the project. Subsequently Ron brought in alternate sub-contractors. Throughout the weeks to completion, the project was not well executed. There were either too many subs at a given time to be able to work in the space together or no one showed for days at all. Although the job was ultimately completed, we would not utilize the services of Easy Street Builders and would not recommend them to others. Scope of work: Compete gut and remodel kitchen, scrape stipple from ceilings in all areas except bedrooms, install recessed lighting, crown / trim, and paint entire project area, install hardwood flooring in living space.
